Overview X-Ray Biomedical Engineer job at Kaiser Permanente. San Jose, CA. Responsibilities Working under the supervision of a manager or designee, perform all phases of scheduled and corrective repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems. Perform pre-issue and asset accounting, equipment installation and de-installation of related equipment as needed. Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance and electrical safety tests of biomedical equipment where applicable to maintain code compliance. Document the results of all inspections, maintenance and tests in a timely manner. Collaborate with other biomedical engineering specialties (Instrumentation, X-Ray, CT/MR, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Clinical Laboratory, RT/Anesthesia, Ophthalmology/Lasers, and Clinical Systems Integrations), KPIT, Business Partners, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives. Travel as required to provide service support for Shared Services/Support biomed engineers and Stationary Service Area Support biomed engineers. Attend technical training as needed, including travel to training sites. After-hours work and on-call duties may be required on a scheduled or nonscheduled basis to complete required work. Communication devices will be supplied and must be kept ON during duty hours. Basic Qualifications Experience Minimum four (4) years of formal and/or on-the-job training in service/support of Philips, Siemens, and GE Healthcare X-Ray Systems. Education High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED). License, Certification, Registration Driver's License (California). Additional Requirements Must have a good driving record. Must have experience and working knowledge of medical equipment and systems in general instrumentation or the specialty area identified above. Must be willing to work extended hours. Must be proficient operating PCs with Windows operating systems. Preferred Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent in electronics, physics or related science degree preferred.
