The Role

• This role is responsible for designing, establishing, and executing the compliance program for a recently acquired subsidiary and its franchise network as part of the post-merger integration process. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders within the compliance functions of the organization and the leadership team of the acquired entity to achieve compliance objectives.

Skills

• Conduct a comprehensive compliance assessment of the acquired company, utilizing the due diligence report from the acquisition process to evaluate its current compliance status.
• Develop and implement a tailored compliance program that aligns with organizational standards and adheres to Japanese legal requirements and local business practices. This includes areas such as trade compliance, data privacy, gift and entertainment policies, anti-bribery measures, and more.
• Perform due diligence on all third-party partners engaged by the subsidiary to ensure compliance standards are maintained.
• Establish and document core processes, controls, and company policies to support compliance efforts.
• Create a compliance checklist for franchise management and develop a monitoring plan to ensure ongoing adherence.
• Deliver compliance training sessions to the acquired company's staff and franchisees to promote awareness and understanding of compliance policies.
• Prepare reports and dashboards to track progress and provide visibility on the integration and compliance initiatives.
