About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO) to lead and manage its enterprise-wide regulatory and accreditation operations. The CRO will be responsible for ensuring compliance with a range of regulatory bodies, including The Joint Commission, health departments, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This role involves overseeing compliance for various healthcare entities, such as hospitals, behavioral health facilities, and home care accreditation. The CRO will also be involved in technical support, education, policy review, and consultation for regulatory surveys. Additionally, the CRO will work with physician leadership to develop recommendations for non-accredited patient care locations and will be accountable for providing mock surveys, educating staff, and chairing workgroups to ensure regulatory compliance. Candidates for the CRO position at the company should have a Master’s degree, with a preference for a degree in nursing or allied health, and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is also preferred. A minimum of 10 years of related healthcare experience, including 7 years of direct management experience, is required, preferably within an academic medical center. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, as well as knowledge of healthcare business operations and project management processes. The CRO will be expected to have a deep understanding of federal and state regulatory guidelines and requirements, particularly those of TJC, CMS, and MIEMSS. The role demands a leader who can build and maintain infrastructure for best practices, and risk reduction, and who is adept at sharing lessons learned to enhance regulatory compliance across the organization.
