Job Description

The Role:

As a backend developer, your main task will be to recommend and code in the best technologies to create amazing products that solve the data challenges of our clients.

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Driving improvement by designing and implementing new features and products and translating feature requests and product plans into technical plans. 
• Participating in defining programming objectives, setting timelines for the deliverables and ensuring commitment to the stipulated deadlines. 
• Writing well designed and efficient back-end code using best software development practices while also participating in testing, debugging and writing technical documentation. 
• Identifying risks involved with the development and providing solutions to resolve complex problems. 
• Working closely with the Project Manager/Business analyst to plan and evaluate the work performed by the team and analyze the impact on the project. 
• Setting up best coding practices and conducting regular code reviews. 
• Setting up processes while working in collaboration with other teams (internal or external) to efficiently meet the technical needs of the assigned project. 
• Mentoring junior programmers in the team. 
• Keeping abreast of new technologies (We have a budget for our developers to learn new skills!) 

Ideal Profile:

• You ideally have 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a full-stack/ backend developer preferably in an Agile environment with exposure to the full software development life cycle. 
• You have a strong background in Node.js as well as proficiency in database management using NoSQL/MongoDB. 
• You are a self-driven individual with good analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong documentation/reporting skills. 
• Knowledge of additional software technologies (e.g., React, Python, JavaScript, CSS/bootstrap, Angular, Android/Eclipse) and CI/CD is a plus. 
• Familiarity with Machine learning technologies (e.g. KERAS, TensorFlow, NEAT, GPT2, DialogGPT, BERT, Scikit-learn, RASA, Jarvis) and cloud platforms such as AWS is a plus.
