Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced and commercially driven Asia-Pacific (APAC) Sales Manager for our Industrial Business. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales - Industrial Business, you will spearhead our growth strategy, managing client relationships, and driving sales throughout Asia Pacific area.    
Wärtsilä SLS Bearing Centre is an internationally acclaimed leader in advanced hydrodynamic bearing solutions, serving the power generation turbomachinery and industrial turbine markets with a commitment to innovation, reliability, and exceptional customer service.

What will you be doing:

  • Lead the development and execution of sales strategies tailored for the APAC market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including major OEMs and power generation companies.
  • Conduct detailed market analyses and competitive assessments to identify business opportunities.
  • Oversee the complete sales cycle, from initial contact through proposal preparation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate effectively with the global sales team to align regional and global objectives.
  • Regularly report on sales activities and market trends to senior management.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant commercial experience in the power generation industry, preferably from bearing manufacturing companies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage client relationships and achieve ambitious sales targets.
  • Deep knowledge of the power gen turbine market landscape in APAC.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in Japanese & English are required to effectively engage with Wärtsilä customers and suppliers, additional language skills beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Japan, with some international trips APAC.
