Hybrid Staff Accountant Opportunity in Baltimore!

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to oversee various accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and supporting grant-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor account maintenance, and expense report review.
• Oversee Payroll processing activities, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
• Handle Accounts Receivable activities, including preparing invoices, applying payments, and maintaining aging accounts.
• Prepare schedules to support grants, programs, and donor-related activities.
• Assist with fixed asset inventory and recordkeeping.
• Analyze workflow processes and recommend improvements.
• Perform account maintenance, prepare accounting schedules, reconciliations, and record entries.
• Prepare documentation and reports for Executive Management, Department Heads, and the Board of Directors.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience in BS Reconciliation.
• Proficient in Journal Entry preparation.
• Experience with cash deposits and cash reporting.
• 3+ years of corporate accounting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, including transactions, reconciliations, and variance reports.
• Proficiency in commercial accounting systems, including Abila MIP and SAGE Intacct.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel.
• Experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable.
• Preferred experience in Healthcare or Nonprofit sectors.
• Preferred experience with grants.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring two days on-site per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
