Role and Responsibilities
Establish good coordination and communication with Customer, Onsite, and Offshore teams.
Be ready to work in JST morning hours as required to support Application transition and stabilization phases of Application Design, Development, Testing, and Maintenance projects.
Actively involve in the primary responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional teams developing and supporting insurance IT products (policy admin, claims, billing, etc.).
Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives in bilingual (Japanese/English) settings.
Coach teams on Agile values, principles, and practices to improve delivery and team health.
Shield teams from external disruptions and help identify and remove impediments.
Foster effective communication and collaboration between onsite and offshore teams.
Track and help teams achieve sprint/release objectives, managing team velocity and burndown/burnup metrics.
Support Product Owners and business stakeholders in backlog prioritization and acceptance criteria.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within insurance IT teams.
Actively contribute towards various transformation initiatives (Process maturity, DevOps automation, Security vulnerability remediation, etc.) to achieve project goals.
Mentor and guide junior team members while assigning and tracking tasks for closure without any schedule, quality, or cost slippages.

Must:
5+ years of Scrum Master or Agile Project Management experience.
Practical insurance domain knowledge (Life and/or P&C), with proven experience in regulated, bilingual environments.
Deep familiarity with Agile/Scrum principles and associated tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Experience working with distributed and multicultural teams.
Ability to effectively coordinate with Product Owners, Customer SMEs from Business & IT, Onsite and Offshore teams.
Actively involve in Application transition and stabilization phases by aligning to Japan (JST) working hours.
Business-level Japanese (N2 or above) and English skills.
Nice-to-have:
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
Exposure to hybrid delivery (Guidewire, Salesforce, COTS, digital modernization).
Experience supporting both business analysts and technical delivery teams.
Insurance process or ITIL certification.
