This role will be based remotely in Tokyo, Japan, with occasional travel to Yamagata upon client request. We’re seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Local Data Coordinator to support a high-impact transformation program focused on data cleansing, migration, and quality assurance.

Job Description



We are looking for a skilled Local Data Coordinator with experience in data cleansing, structured data loads, and migration activities to support a life sciences transformation program with a strong focus on data quality and operational readiness.

  • Coordinate and execute four structured data load cycles (4x loads) into target systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead local data cleansing efforts, applying business rules and transformation logic to prepare data for migration.
  • Support data mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities in collaboration with global data teams.
  • Perform pre-load checks and post-load validations to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Document data issues, track resolutions, and contribute to continuous improvement of data quality processes.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand local data requirements and ensure alignment with global standards.
  • Support cutover planning and execution from a data readiness perspective.
  • Ensure data migration activities meet quality management (QM) standards and regulatory expectations in the Japanese pharma/life sciences context.
  • Act as a liaison between local business units and global data migration teams, facilitating clear communication and issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data coordination, cleansing, or migration within ERP or enterprise systems.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP data objects and tools preferred (e.g., Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW), Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit (LTMC), Data Services).
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, validation techniques, and migration methodologies.
  • Experience with structured data load cycles and cutover planning.
  • Familiarity with GxP (Good x Practice) and data compliance requirements in regulated industries.
  • Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) and English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or consulting is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
