Responsibilities

Purpose of Role:

The Rec Facility Attendant serves as an ambassador of our outdoor turf facilities consisting of the Stadium, Mustangs & Alumni Field, and Thompson Recreation Athletic Centre. This role focuses on assisting all guests and users in accessing, safely utilizing, and educating on the various means of use across all facilities. As the operators of the facilities, Rec Facility Attendant must be knowledgeable about the stadium, track, turf fields, and other facilities including Thompson Arena, foster a sense of community and provide a safe and equitable space for all. Key responsibilities include educating guests about facility policies, ensuring spaces meet the diverse needs of the community, and maintaining high standards of service for events and daily use.

Responsibilities:

• Routine responsibilities will focus on the management and implementation of all day-to-day operational needs associated with our facilities: including security and access to the facility; equipment storage/access; game day & special events operations, aiding external user groups.
• Supervising user groups and enforcing policies to ensure safety and adherence to regulations.
• Assisting with collection, removal, and disposal of waste in the facility.
• Ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and prepared for use prior to events or regular activities.
• Performing opening and closing duties for the facility as required.
• Supporting day-to-day operations and coordinating with the staff during special events to ensure smooth functionality.
• Providing high-level customer service by assisting visitors, offering information about facilities and equipment, and orienting users as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• First Aid & CPR certification (preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated strong customer service, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ideal Rec Facility Attendant are experienced in facilities management, with sincere interest in recreational sporting activities and who have a strong knowledge of Campus Recreation’s programs, services, and facilities.

Experience:

• 1-2 years' experience in a customer service setting
• General understanding of sport rules
