Title: Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations

Based at: Mucci International Marketing Inc., Kingsville, Ontario

Revision Date: November 11th, 2025

Type of Employment: Full time, permanent in office, extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which will include Saturdays, and possible Sundays.

We're seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager to join our team and collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to help drive growth and optimize performance with our retail partners.

Job Description:

As the Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager , you will lead our purchasing and inventory team to ensure efficient operations and optimal stock levels. This role requires strong leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and effective negotiation in the marketplace. You will also provide actionable insights that support sales growth and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about leveraging data to drive results.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and Manage Team of 10 employees consisting of Buyers. Assistants and Inventory Clerks
  • Manage Direct and Indirect Spend categories which include Direct (Corrugate, Resin (Trays, Films, Bags), Labels) and Indirect materials (MRO, PPE, Services)
  • Work in conjunction with Packaging Development Manager, Sales & Marketing to source and develop new packaging formats
  • Negotiate contracts, evaluate and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids with suppliers
  • Validate negotiation processes and BID’s made by buyers and Supervisor
  • Provide training and/or update in of good practices regarding to Purchasing department
  • Insure the Team will be motivated and aligned with the goals determined by the Senior Management
  • Prepare and present reports regarding market conditions and organizational spend to Senior Management
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory flow, reduce waste and develop appropriate min/max levels
  • Ensures storage and inventory control are performed in an efficient manner
  • Update Senior Management on any current or foreseeable inventory issues
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a management/leadership role with Purchasing and Inventory Control
  • PMAC Certificate and/or C.S.C.M.P. Designation preferred/considered an asset
  • Proven negotiation skills to effectively negotiate with suppliers
  • Must have strong time management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines
  • Highly energetic and assertive with strong leadership skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel)
  • Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner through verbal and written methods
  • Must be willing and able to present information to all levels of the organization

Physical Abilities:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
  • Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time
