Sooke Harbour House in Sooke, British Columbia , is inviting individuals to join the exciting reopening team of this iconic West Coast property.

Executive Chef Melissa Craig, known for her award-winning tenure at Whistler's Bearfoot Bistro, has returned to her culinary roots at Sooke Harbour House. Alongside her is hospitality visionary Andre Saint-Jacques, assuming the role of Managing Partner, renowned for creating extraordinary guest experiences.

With a comprehensive renovation nearing completion, with its ocean-view dining room, lounge, kitchen, and bake shop, Sooke Harbour House is looking for individuals to be part of this relaunch.

: Night House Person

The role of Night House Person and Bellman/Bellwoman is integral to our overnight team, encompassing responsibilities such as maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel's public areas and providing guest assistance during nighttime hours. This position demands a versatile and service-oriented individual capable of multitasking efficiently, meeting guest needs, and upholding the hotel's cleanliness and presentation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nightly inspections to ensure the cleanliness and organization of all public spaces, including the lobby, corridors, and outdoor areas.
  • Assist guests with late check-ins and early check-outs, offering a warm welcome or farewell regardless of the hour.
  • Handle guest luggage carefully, providing storage and transportation assistance as required.
  • Promptly address guest inquiries, deliver exceptional customer service, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Support front desk operations during the night, including managing guest requests and answering phones.
  • Perform safety and security checks to safeguard guests and the property.
  • Assist in preparing for and concluding early morning events or meetings as necessary.
  • Undertake light maintenance duties and report any concerns to management.
  • Uphold the hotel's cleanliness and excellence standards consistently.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Past experience in the hospitality sector, particularly in housekeeping or guest services.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Keen attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality work.
  • Physical capability to lift and move luggage, as well as perform cleaning duties.
  • Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Professional demeanor
