We are looking for a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a short-term contract basis in Northfield, Illinois. This role focuses on processing insurance and patient payments with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities:
• Accurately post payments received from insurance providers and patients into the appropriate systems.
• Review and reconcile patient accounts to ensure all payments are properly allocated.
• Process medical claims and ensure timely submission to insurance companies.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in billing and payments.
• Collaborate with insurance companies and patients to address billing inquiries and issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding and billing regulations.
• Utilize Epaces software and other medical billing tools effectively.
• Generate reports on billing activities and payment statuses.
• Communicate with the team to ensure consistency and accuracy in billing processes.• Proven experience in medical billing, including posting payments from insurance and patients.
• Familiarity with medical coding and collections processes.
• Strong knowledge of medical claims procedures and regulations.
• Proficiency in using Epaces and other medical billing software.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies and patients.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
