About the Opportunity

LuxeTech is looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to our growing New Product Development team. This position offers the chance to take ownership of challenging hydraulic and pneumatic design projects. The successful candidate will thrive in a hands-on engineering environment, combining strong technical design expertise with problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver high-quality, on-time results.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll be directly involved in every stage of the design lifecycle. Your day-to-day will include:

• Managing design projects from early concept and feasibility studies through prototyping and final production release.
• Creating and releasing hydraulic and pneumatic component designs that meet performance, cost, and quality expectations.
• Performing engineering analysis such as FEA and CFD, while backing up simulations with practical hand calculations.
• Maintaining project files, Bills of Materials, and documentation in an MRP system (E2).
• Overseeing validation testing and producing clear technical reports.
• Contributing to continuous improvement by designing jigs, fixtures, gauges, and error-proofing tools.
• Sharing your knowledge by mentoring junior designers and guiding collaborative design activities.
• Partnering with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure designs are implemented successfully.
• Engaging directly with customers and suppliers to align technical requirements and resolve issues.

Must-Have Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology.
• At least 8 years of mechanical design experience, ideally with a focus on hydraulics or mobile equipment.
• SolidWorks expertise (intermediate to advanced).
• Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with FEA and CFD, supported by solid engineering fundamentals.
• Excellent troubleshooting ability and strong technical report writing skills.
• Confident communicator, able to work with internal teams as well as external customers/suppliers.
• Project management experience is an asset.
