Job Description

The Health & Safety (H&S) Manager is a key member of the Leadership Team and plays a critical role in fostering a safe and sustainable work culture. This key role is responsible for developing and implementing best practices related to health and safety strategy while ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. The H&S Manager provides technical expertise, program leadership, and strong relationship-building to promote a culture of Safety accountability and care.

What you will do:

  • Lead and continuously improve the H&S programs, including identifying, managing, auditing, and mitigating risk factors that could lead to incidents or compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial, local, and corporate safety regulations, including written programs, certifications, permits, documentation, and training requirements.
  • Promote safety ownership and sustainability stewardship by engaging and involving employees in program development and awareness.
  • Drive measurable results against safety goals and tracking progress.
  • Conduct incident trend analysis, root cause investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage workers’ compensation processes.
  • Manage and oversee site security.
  • Collaborate with leadership and corporate H&S teams to align strategies and ensure success across all performance KPIs.
  • Mentor and lead H&S professionals, fostering team capability and engagement.

What you will Need:

  • BS in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field plus 5+ years of H&S leadership experience in an industrial environment; OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proven track record of safety leadership and measurable results.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and Workers’ Compensation regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams; strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to prepare regulatory reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
