Freelance Creative Writer - Canada

Canadian French Speaker

16 - 24 hours a week, Freelance, Canada based – Starting ASAP (test pass compulsory)

RWS Launches Small World Studio to Enable Brands to Adapt, Manage and Deliver Global Customer Content.

Marketing Solutions team is currently recruiting experienced freelance Canadian French creative writers to work up to 24 hours a week. The project duration is indefinite, starting ASAP. We will need someone who can offer flexibility around weekly hours and project duration . The successful candidate will be working on a leading global mobile/tech brand. Our client is one of the largest global consumer electronic companies. You can work remotely from home.

Requirements:

  • Canadian French speaker.
  • Al least 3 years solid experienced working as a Canadian French creative writer.
  • Intimate knowledge of local culture and understanding of modern French Canadian colloquialisms and tonal nuances.
  • Bachelor degree: Creative Writing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism or related field of study preferred.
  • Ability to work in an .xml file/format when required.
  • Understand A.I’s voice assistant specific features such as the ability to force a change in tone/pitch/speed etc. to help accentuate particular content eg. raps/songs
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, notably Excel.
  • Strong familiarity with mobile A.I.s. and smartphone culture (Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant, Bixby).
  • Ability to understand and implement complex creative briefs, persona guidelines, and nuanced writing styles.
  • Able to write to global audiences with particular focus on Millennial and Gen Z tone.
  • Experience working in a team of writers and creating homogenous, unified products.
  • Experience managing a team of writers, taking briefs from clients, interrogating them and briefing them out to the team.
  • Ability to run complex multi-project schedules.
  • Strong client management experience.

The Candidate:

  • Experienced creative, able to write for a Young, Millennial TA.
  • Strong interest for local and urban culture, e-culture, etc.
  • Impeccable writing skills, versatile writer with a good sense of humour, no ego, as writing is collective (cross writing + editing); strong literary/writing background. Likes to play with words.
  • Other talents are valued (VO artist, musician, graphic designer, illustrator, game designer, e-gamer, rapper, beatboxer, dubber, subtitler, sound creation).
  • Problem solving character and team player.
  • Works well with an international team
  • Able to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple projects
  • Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively
  • Able work flexible hours when required
  • Able to receive and offer feedback in a constructive manner. It’s easier said than done.
  • Can comfortably attend conference calls and client meetings to discuss project and feedback when required.
