Service Engineer (Mechanical) – Pacific Northwest Territory

📍 Seattle Area, WA | 💼 Full-Time | 🕒 Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

80% Overnight Travel (All travel expenses covered)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team supporting marine propulsion equipment across the Pacific Northwest . This role involves heavy travel (approximately 80% overnight) and hands-on work in the field—inspecting, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical propulsion systems to ensure peak performance and customer satisfaction.

You will work independently with limited supervision, using your mechanical expertise to minimize equipment downtime and keep vessels operational. This position is ideal for a mechanically skilled professional—especially those with military propulsion system experience —who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and limited diagnostics on marine propulsion equipment.
  • Inspect, clean, and evaluate parts for repair or replacement.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances to meet specifications.
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections and functional testing.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine work methods.
  • Document calibration results, create service reports, and maintain technical records.
  • Ensure work complies with all legal, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain customer contact logs and assist with ongoing contract management.
  • Advise customers on upgrades and additional service opportunities.
  • Mentor and share technical knowledge with Service Technicians as needed.

Qualifications

  • Military experience with mechanical propulsion equipment preferred (e.g., Navy Nuke MMs, GSMs, conventional MMs).
  • Strong understanding of marine mechanical systems and their applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents.
  • Basic IT skills; commercial awareness a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $28–$33/hour + OT + Per Diem
  • Travel: All travel expenses covered (80% overnight travel required)
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays, and more.
