Business Operations at Reap is responsible for driving and enabling company growth across strategic markets. This role will lead our expansion into Japan , a highly influential financial market and a regulatory trailblazer for stablecoins in Asia.Japan is expected to process $12B–26B in stablecoin-settled trade flows with Latin America and Africa by 2030 , driven by automotive, manufacturing, and critical minerals trade. With the new 2025 Stablecoin Law creating a well-defined but complex environment for institutional players, Reap is looking to invest early in establishing a local presence.You’ll play a key role in building the operational, regulatory, and partnership foundations necessary to launch and scale Reap in Japan—positioning us to serve global clients trading into Asia. You will:

• Lead Reap’s go-to-market and operational expansion strategy for Japan.
• Build relationships with Japanese banks, PSPs, trust companies, and ecosystem partners to enable compliant cross-border stablecoin and fiat payments.
• Navigate Japan’s regulatory environment, including FSA licensing frameworks for stablecoins and payments.
• Drive localization efforts across product, legal, and engineering to ensure market fit.
• Analyze demand from existing clients and align internal teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Represent Reap in industry discussions, conferences, and regulator-facing initiatives in Japan.
• Track policy and ecosystem developments and translate them into actionable strategy.

You might be a fit if:

• You have 8+ years of experience in fintech, banking, strategy, or international expansion—ideally with exposure to Japan’s financial system.
• You’ve worked with regulatory authorities such as the FSA or Bank of Japan , or have navigated financial licensing processes in Japan.
• You are bilingual in Japanese and English , and comfortable operating in highly cross-cultural environments.
• You are a self-starter with a structured approach to launching and scaling businesses in complex regulatory markets.
• You understand how to bridge global product strategy with local regulatory and market needs.
• You’ve worked across functions and geographies to get complex projects off the ground.

Bonus:

• Experience in stablecoin infrastructure, blockchain-based payments, or regulatory tech.
• Deep familiarity with Japan’s trust bank and stablecoin licensing ecosystem.
• Exposure to enterprise payments in sectors like automotive, manufacturing, or trade finance.
• Background in regulatory affairs, product operations, or corporate development in financial services.
