Job Title: Baker

Location: Toronto (On-Site)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $18.50 – $20.00 per hour

About the Role

We are hiring a motivated and skilled Baker on behalf of our client, a fast-paced bakery in Toronto. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, ensuring product quality, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting daily bakery operations.

Key Responsibilities

Baking & Production

• Prepare doughs, batters, and other ingredients according to recipes.
• Bake bread, pastries, cakes, and other products to high-quality standards.
• Decorate and finish baked goods as needed.

Quality & Safety

• Ensure all products meet quality and consistency standards.
• Follow proper food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Inventory & Supplies

• Monitor inventory and ingredient levels.
• Report supply needs and assist in ordering ingredients.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with other kitchen and bakery staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in training new team members on bakery processes and safety standards.

Administrative Tasks

• Keep records of daily production and waste.
• Track baked goods inventory and report on production efficiency.

Work Schedule

• 8-hour shifts (day, evening, and morning)
• Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months of baking experience (for candidates inside Canada)
• Minimum 3 years of baking experience (for candidates outside Canada)
• English proficiency (minimum CLB 6)
• Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
