Volt is immediately hiring an Audio Mechanical Design Engineer in San Jose, CA.


As an  Audio Mechanical Design Engineer you will:


  • Develop micro-plastic mechanical solutions for audio modules
  • Use CAD tools to model and simulate speaker enclosures and acoustic meshes
  • Build and test prototypes to validate acoustic and mechanical performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, acoustic, industrial design) from concept to mass production
  • Ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, and cost targets
  • Conduct mechanical and acoustic tests using data-driven methods (e.g., DOE, mold flow analysis)
  • Establish test systems and analyze results for continuous improvement
 

This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.


The ideal candidate will have:


  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of relevant product design and development experience, with a focus on micro-speakers in high-volume consumer electronics.
  • Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CAD.
 

Pay Range: $160,000 - $185,000 per year.


*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
